Cooking method

Cooking time: 1 h

1. Turn the oven on 190-200 degrees Celsius in convection mode.

2. Wash the halibut fillet thoroughly under running water and dry it with a paper towel or napkins. Then cut the fish fillet into portions (not too finely).
If you use frozen fish fillets, then you should first defrost it, pulling it out of the freezer in advance.

3. Peel the shallots. Rinse the green onions and shallots under a stream of cool water. Then dry and finely chop both products.

4. In a bowl or some other container, mix mayonnaise (you can take any fat content) and Dijon mustard. Add the chopped shallots and green onions to the same place. Leave some green onions for the final decoration of the dish. Rinse the lemon, then cut it in half and, squeezing the citrus with your hands on both sides, squeeze the juice into a bowl with mayonnaise, mustard and onion. Add freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste to a bowl and mix the resulting sauce well.

5. Lubricate a deep baking tray and a suitable baking dish with a small amount of olive oil so that the fish does not stick to it during the cooking process in the future. Place the halibut fillet pieces in it. Spread the previously prepared mayonnaise sauce evenly on top of the fish pieces. Put the fish in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until fully cooked. As the fish fillet is baked, it will change its color from slightly transparent to a rather dense white, which will indicate its readiness.

When the fish is ready, turn on the top grill in the oven for about 1-2 minutes to form an appetizing golden crust.

Transfer the finished baked halibut to a nice plate and sprinkle with the remaining green onions.

Bon appetit!
