Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Let's start with the preparation of the pastry. All ingredients stored in the refrigerator must be removed in advance so that they are at room temperature. Put sour cream and softened butter in a bowl.
Step 2:
Add sugar, a pinch of salt to balance the taste. Mix the ingredients with a hand whisk or mixer.
Step 3:
Drive in two chicken eggs, mix the ingredients again until smooth.
Step 4:
Sift wheat flour through a sieve, add baking powder to the flour, mix the dry ingredients and pour them into a bowl with a liquid mixture. We do not pour the flour all at once, but add it in small portions, stirring the mass until a thick dough is obtained.
Step 5:
Then spread the dough blank on the floured work surface and knead the elastic smooth dough. It is impossible to knead such dough for a long time, otherwise it may become hard and not tasty after baking. The main task is to collect the dough into a ball. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Step 6:
Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Walnuts are washed and dried in a microwave oven or in a dry frying pan.
Step 7:
You need to grind the nuts to a large crumb, this can be done in a coffee grinder or with a regular rolling pin. Add softened butter, sugar, and a pinch of vanilla to a bowl with chopped walnuts, if desired. Rub the ingredients with a spoon or clean hands until a uniform consistency of crumbs is formed.
Step 8:
Take the finished dough out of the refrigerator. It can be divided into three parts and cook three small rolls or one large one at your discretion. Roll out the dough into a thin layer about 0.5 centimeters thick.
Step 9:
Spread the walnut filling evenly on the dough with a spoon.
Step 10:
We roll the dough with the filling into a roll, carefully fix the edges of the roll.
Step 11:
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. On the surface of the roll, if desired, we make a pattern with a fork and lubricate it with beaten egg yolk. Bake the roll for about 30 minutes. We cut the roll into portions and serve it to tea. Bon appetit!
Be prepared for the fact that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
Keep in mind that everyone's ovens are different. The temperature and cooking time may differ from those specified in the recipe. To make any baked dish successful, use useful information about the features of ovens !
