Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Let's prepare the ingredients according to the list. It is better to take oatmeal varieties of Hercules or extra-1, which are not fast cooking, more useful. The flakes are thoroughly washed, the water is drained. We dry the grits, half of the oatmeal needs to be ground into flour, you can do this with a coffee grinder or other device. Put the remaining whole flakes in a deep bowl and pour hot water, leave for 10 minutes so that the flakes swell. We drain the water from the cereals, squeezing them.
Step 2:
Dried fruits are thoroughly washed under running water, pour boiling water and leave for 15 minutes so that they swell well. After that, we wash the dried fruits again to remove the plaque from the berries, which often happens on dried fruits. Dry dried apricots and prunes and finely chop with a knife. We leave the raisins intact.
Step 3:
We send the cooked dried fruits to a bowl with oat flakes. Optionally, you can add chopped walnuts or other nuts, honey or other additives. Those who like sweeter can add a little sugar, but dried fruits make cookies quite sweet without sugar, also no salt is required.
Step 4:
Add the oat flakes crushed into flour to the rest of the ingredients. We drive a chicken egg into a bowl. Add a pinch of baking powder. Mix thoroughly.
Step 5:
It turned out a thick and sticky dough. If it's too thick, add some more water. Flakes in viscosity can be very different from each other.
Step 6:
Cover the baking sheet with parchment. Spread the oatmeal dough on the parchment with a tablespoon, forming a round cookie.
Step 7:
Bake cookies in a preheated 200 degree oven for about 15 minutes. We take the cookies out of the oven, let them cool down and remove them from the paper. We serve it to the table with tea, coffee, milk or cocoa. Have a nice tea party!
