Step 1:
Prepare the specified products. Use not fresh, but dried peas, which are sold by weight or in packages. Peel the vegetables and put them in water.
Step 2:
Wash dried peas in several waters, then pour warm water in a deep bowl and leave for 40 minutes to swell.
Step 3:
Peel the beef from the films and veins, rinse thoroughly in water and cut into small pieces.
Step 4:
Put the beef in a saucepan or saucepan, add 3 bay leaves and pour hot water. Boil for 40 minutes on medium heat. When boiling, remove the formed foam with a slotted spoon. Do not salt the water when boiling!
Step 5:
Pour the swollen peas into a cauldron or a saucepan with a non-stick bottom. Pour baking soda - do not increase the portion in any case, otherwise the peas will "pull in" includes its unpleasant taste. Pour water and bring to a boil, boil for 5 minutes at minimum heat. Carefully monitor the contents of the container - foam will form abundantly. After that, turn off the heating and throw the peas into a colander, rinse. Thanks to soda, the surface of the legumes will soften.
Step 6:
Rinse the cauldron and pour back the washed peas. By this time, the beef will also be cooked. Add it together with the broth from the pan to the cauldron, removing the bay leaves - they have already given their flavor to the broth.
Step 7:
Cut the potatoes into medium pieces, and the onion and carrot into small ones. Pour into the cauldron.
Step 8:
Pour in warm water, add salt and ground black pepper to taste, put 2 bay leaves. Bring to a boil and cook the first dish on medium heat for about 20 minutes. At the very end of cooking, add chopped parsley or dill to it, you can pour dried thyme (thyme, savory).
Step 9:
Pour the pea soup into plates or bowls, decorate with fresh herbs and serve. This first dish with garlic crackers, black or rye bread, sour cream or mayonnaise is very tasty.
Pea soup with beef is a difficult dish to prepare, but it turns out so delicious that it will be worth all the effort spent on its creation. It is advisable to soak dried peas in the evening if you plan to cook soup in the morning for lunch. You can boil the peas without adding soda, however, after boiling, the first water should be drained and again pour the cereal with warm water, cook for about 1-1.5 hours.
