Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
1. Pour the condensed milk into a bowl, whisk with a whisk for 2 minutes. Turn the oven on 180 degrees so that it has time to warm up.
Step 2:
2. Add half a serving of coconut chips. Mix well.
Step 3:
3. Add the remaining coconut chips and mix well again. It is very good if the resulting mass looks like in this picture. The dough should not be as soft as butter, and if this happens, then sprinkle a little coconut chips to achieve the desired consistency. Add half a teaspoon (about 2 ml) of vanilla essence. Mix well.
Step 4:
4. The resulting mass will stick to your hands, so lubricate your palms with vegetable oil and only then begin to separate small portions from the mass, form balls and flatten them slightly. Spread the resulting balls on a well-oiled baking sheet. It is better if the balls are about the same size. I divide the mass into 9 parts - cakes. If you need more, just increase the volume of ingredients.
Step 5:
5. Decoration! Cut each cherry into halves lengthwise and lightly press into the cake.
Step 6:
6. Bake the cakes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Until they become slightly golden (as in the picture) over the entire surface. Try to place the cakes in the center of the oven, equally far from the heating elements, then they will bake evenly.
Step 7:
7. This is how the finished cakes look from below. They are a little more brown, but appetizing.
Step 8:
8. After 2-3 minutes, gently tuck the cakes with a spatula and transfer to a plate to cool. These cakes are very good with milk or tea. It turns out 9 pieces.
