Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
To prepare the cake, prepare the necessary ingredients. Puff pastry can be prepared independently, but it is more convenient to use ready-made purchased. It is sold frozen. Therefore, before cooking, remove the dough from the freezer so that it thaws at room temperature. Puff pastry can be used yeast or yeast-free. Wash the apples from dirt.
Step 2:
Grease the baking dish a little on the bottom and sides with a small amount of vegetable oil. Roll out the layer of puff pastry according to the size of the mold. I use a small mold, about 25-27 centimeters in size. Put the dough into the prepared mold and tuck it a little in the corners so that they turn out more neat. The mold can be used ceramic, glass or metal.
Step 3:
Cut the apples into 4 pieces and cut out the core from them. Then cut the apples into thin slices. Sprinkle the apples a little with lemon juice so that they do not darken.
Step 4:
Spread the sliced apples over the entire surface of the dough. 2 large apples were enough for me. If the apples are smaller, then you can take another one. Melt the butter in a small bowl and, using a brush, brush all the apples and the edges of the dough with melted butter.
Step 5:
Sprinkle the apples all over the surface with sugar. Brown sugar can also be used for this purpose. It will give the taste of the pie a touch of caramel. Put the pie in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 30-40 minutes. Be guided by your oven. During baking, the apples will release juice, and the dough on the sides will turn golden.
Step 6:
Remove the finished cake from the oven and cool completely.A sufficient amount of juice will be released from the apples, so if you start cutting the pie right away, the juice will flow out of it. During the time that it will cool down, the juice will be absorbed into the dough and it can be easily cut. Serve it with tea or coffee! Have a nice treat!
In the filling of the pie, along with apples, you can add a little steamed raisins. And for flavor, sprinkle with a small amount of ground cinnamon.
