Cooking method

Cooking time: 25 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

How do you make an egg-free crab stick salad? Gather the ingredients. Wash the tomatoes and herbs well and dry them with paper towels. You can use any hard or semi-hard cheese. When buying crab sticks, pay attention to the brand, ingredients, and production date.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Before cutting, you can thaw the crab sticks completely - you won't have to grate them. Cut the crab sticks into rounds.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the cores along with the seeds. If the tomatoes are fleshy with little juice, you can leave the core in.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Cut the remaining tomato flesh into cubes and drain off the juice released while cutting.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

    Chop the herbs finely.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

In a salad bowl, combine the cut crab sticks, tomatoes, grated cheese, herbs, and garlic run through a press.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Dress the cut ingredients with mayonnaise. Mix.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9

Take a wide, flat plate. Set a salad ring on it. Pack the salad into the individual ring mold. Tamp it down.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10

Remove the ring and put the salad in the fridge for 15 minutes. Do the same with the rest of the salad - that is, form it into separate neat portions. You can also serve this crab stick, tomato, cheese, and garlic salad simply in a shared bowl.

  • I dusted the finished salad with grated Parmesan and garnished it with parsley. You can layer this crab stick, tomato, cheese, and garlic salad, or mix it, pack it into a ring mold, press it down firmly, and lift off the ring. That way it looks more interesting and appetizing. Another option is to layer it inside the ring mold.
  • It's better to make the mayonnaise yourself - it's tastier and better for you. See some interesting homemade mayonnaise recipes here. You can also use sour cream or plain yogurt as a dressing instead of mayonnaise. Use them on their own or mix them with mayonnaise in any ratio you like - this will cut the dish's calories.
  • How do you buy crab sticks the right way? Be sure to check the product's expiration date. Surimi (minced white fish) should be first on the ingredient list. Important! Don't buy the product if it has frost on it - that's a sign it's been refrozen. Fresh sticks should be free of gray and yellow spots, springy, and slightly moist. If the product is sticky, it's spoiled.
