Garlic arrows are carefully removed until they begin to straighten out of elegant loops and knowledgeable gardeners do so that the garlic head itself is larger and the plant does not waste energy on flowering. The diligent housewives of the shooters themselves, which it would seem worth sending to the compost heap, find a worthy use, harvesting them in a variety of ways: pickling, salting, cooking caviar, freezing.
In order to prepare frozen garlic arrows, it is necessary to prepare them beforehand, namely, carefully rinse the arrows under running water and cut off the upper coarser and tougher part with the future bud. Only the young, tender lower parts of the arrows will be used. It is they who should then be cut into shorter (3-4 cm) pieces and folded into a clean, dense bag or container made of food-grade plastic suitable for use in the freezer. Carefully close and place the arrows in the freezer.
The peculiarity of frozen garlic arrows is that even after defrosting they will remain quite dense and elastic.
There are options for freezing already boiled arrows, caviar from arrows, freeze garlic arrows with herbs, in the form of fragrant oil, mixing crushed arrows with softened butter, but still the above method of harvesting is obviously the simplest and easiest.
