Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 45 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to fry potatoes with honeydew in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. I have store-bought honey mushrooms. They were frozen. They must be thawed in advance. If the honey mushrooms are from the forest, then they must be cleaned and rinsed.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour the honeydew with salted water and bring everything to a boil. The water must be salted so that the honeydew does not turn gray. Boil the mushrooms for 20 minutes, removing the foam that will form when heated. Then discard the mushrooms in a colander and rinse again with cold water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Peel, rinse and thinly slice the onion.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour a little vegetable oil into the pan and heat it up to a hot state. Lay out the chopped onion and fry it for a couple of minutes until a characteristic aroma appears.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Then transfer the boiled honey mushrooms to the onion. Stir and fry everything together for 3-5 minutes so that the liquid evaporates from the mushrooms.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Peel the potatoes and rinse them from dirt. Cut the peeled potatoes into strips and rinse in cold water. Then drain all the water. Why rinse in water? This is necessary in order to wash off excess starch from potatoes. Thanks to this, the potatoes will break less when frying.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put the washed potatoes in a frying pan and fry together with the mushrooms on a low heat for 15-20 minutes. Do not forget to stir occasionally so that nothing burns. If you want to get fried potatoes with a crust, then cook it without a lid.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

The finished potatoes will become soft. At the end of frying, sprinkle a little salt. Enjoy your meal!

Any oils are useful only until a certain temperature is reached - the point of smoking, at which the oil begins to burn and toxic substances, including carcinogens, are formed in it. How to determine the roasting temperature and choose the best oil for frying, and which is better not to use at all, read here .

Important! An incorrectly selected frying pan can ruin even the best recipe. All the details on how to choose the perfect frying pan for different dishes read here .

If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.

Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acid, burning is individual for everyone, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste! If you put some of the seasonings for the first time, then keep in mind that there are spices that it is especially important not to shift (for example, chili pepper).
