Frozen mushrooms are suitable for recipes of all dishes that require heat treatment. They can be fried, boiled, baked in the oven either separately or with other ingredients. They can be used to stuff pies and pies, cook casseroles and omelets.
Frozen mushrooms are most often found in recipes with these five products:
The best thing to do with frozen mushrooms is to fry them. In the process, a lot of moisture will be released, which will quickly evaporate from the pan. It is not necessary to defrost the product before cooking. With already fried mushrooms, you can cook any dish you want: the first, the second, pastries and so on.
If boiled mushrooms were frozen (most often this happens), they can be safely used for soups of any kind, including cream, mashed potatoes or cabbage soup. In this case, mushrooms are placed in a pot of boiling water last. It is also not necessary to defrost them at the same time.
To prepare a roast or casserole, where the proportions of dry and wet ingredients are important, the frozen product must be defrosted and rid of excess liquid. This can be done slowly at room temperature - just leave them in a suitable container, then drain the water. You can use the microwave in the “defrost” mode, this method is the fastest. Again, if you plan to fry mushrooms before adding them to the filling, you do not need to defrost them.
Important! After defrosting, mushrooms should not be frozen a second time!
