Horseradish - alcoholic homemade tincture. It is made on the basis of vodka or homemade moonshine with the addition of horseradish and honey. It is used as a prophylaxis against colds or simply as an alcoholic drink with a mild taste and healing properties.
Adding ginger to the tincture makes it even more useful. Since ginger has a number of useful properties - it serves as the main remedy for colds and viruses, normalizes metabolism, improves digestion.
Cooking horseradish with ginger is very simple. You will need a glass container with a volume of 2.5 - 3 liters. For these purposes, you can take an ordinary 3-liter jar. Pour 1.5 liters of vodka there. Pour the rest of the vodka into a separate bowl and mix with honey. Honey does not dissolve very well in vodka, so you will have to make some effort to get a homogeneous mass. Pour the resulting liquid with dissolved honey into the prepared container for horseradish, that is, add it to vodka.
Take the horseradish root, wash it, peel it and cut it finely into cubes of 3 cm. Horseradish is best cut, and not grated - otherwise the finished drink will be cloudy. For the same reason, finely slice fresh ginger (do not rub!). Pour horseradish and ginger into a container with vodka.
Pour lemon juice into the same place and add black currant leaves. This will make the horseradish taste softer and more fragrant. If the horseradish is made on the basis of moonshine, then you can add a little more currant leaves to kill the not very pleasant smell of yeast. Close the jar tightly with a lid and mix everything thoroughly by shaking the container.
Put the drink to infuse in a dark cool place for 5 days. At the same time, it is necessary to shake the contents periodically for a better taste and aroma.
After the horseradish has been infused, it needs to be filtered through several layers of gauze. Honey usually settles in flakes, horseradish can also give some turbidity. For better filtration of the finished drink, you can use a clean paper towel. So, the finished drink will be even cleaner and more transparent. It is best to store horseradish with ginger in the refrigerator. Bon appetit!
