Wheat Grits Soup with Chicken

A light, tasty soup for grown-ups and kids alike. My mom used to say, "Sweetheart, you need to eat something brothy every day!" And she was right. The only thing is, the same soup every day gets old fast. So today here's a twist on "my favorite soup."

    Cover the chicken with cold water and bring it to a boil, then skim off the foam.

    Ten minutes after the chicken comes to a boil, add the carrot and onion and cook for another 5 minutes.

    Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes or slices, and add them to the soup.

    Rinse the grits under running water until the water runs clear, then add them to the soup, bring it to a boil, and cook until the potatoes are soft. Five minutes before the end of cooking, salt the soup and add your favorite spices.

    Chop the dill, add it to the soup, bring it to a boil, and turn off the heat right away.
