Composition / ingredients
Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
For the recipe you will need beetroot, water, rye bread, sugar.
Step 2:
Cut the bread into medium-sized pieces.
Step 3:
Cut off the tails of the washed beetroot. Cut the beets into medium-sized pieces.
Step 4:
Put sliced bread and beets in a washed and dried three-liter jar.
Step 5:
Pour sugar into the jar.
Step 6:
Pour all two liters of boiling water and cover with a towel (so that dust does not fly, but air gets in). After about 1 day, bubbles will begin to appear on the surface - the beginning of fermentation. If fermentation does not begin (it is delayed), then you can put 3 pieces of raisins in a jar that is not washed - this will speed up the fermentation process.
Step 7:
After 3 days the kvass is ready. Cool the drink in the refrigerator and you can enjoy this drink, or you can use it when cooking borscht.
