Cooking method
Amaretto is a dark brown dessert liqueur with a pleasant refined aroma and a bitter almond taste. It was first invented in medieval Europe by Italian monks. Since then, he has firmly won a place in the culinary field. Knowing this simple recipe, you can easily cook it at home. To do this, you do not need to go to Italy at all, and cooking products can be easily found on the shelves of our stores.
Pour boiling water over the almonds and leave it for 3-5 minutes - so that it can be easily peeled. Since bitter almonds are not eaten raw, you need to fry them in a frying pan. At the end of frying, add cloves and allspice to the almonds.
Then you will need apricot kernels. You can, of course, without them, but the taste and aroma of the finished amaretto will not be so saturated. Wash the apricot kernels, add a pinch of cinnamon and mix everything. Transfer the prepared almonds and apricot kernels to a clean glass bowl.
Prepare sugar syrup. To do this, pour the sugar on the bottom of the non-stick cookware, add 50 ml of clean water and bring the sugar to a caramel state over low heat, stirring constantly. At the end, add vanilla sugar and the rest of the water. The resulting syrup is slowly poured into a container with prepared almonds and apricot kernels.
After the mixture cools down, add vodka and coffee to a glass container.Mix thoroughly. Infuse the liquor in a dark, cool place for 30-35 days. Shake occasionally.
After the liquor has been infused, it must be filtered thoroughly through several layers of gauze so that there is no sediment. And you can enjoy the exquisite taste of the actually prepared Italian liqueur!
