Cooking method
To prepare this drink, you need to take the quality of the grains with all responsibility. They should be light, without traces of spoilage and charm. Any defect can adversely affect the taste of the finished barley drink.
1. Pour barley grains on a clean, dry pan. We send the pan to the fire. The grains are dried and fried until brownish in color. At the same time, the barley swells, some grains burst, making a slightly crackling sound. To prevent the grains from burning, we constantly stir them in the process.
2. Fried grains are cooled, then ground into powder. This can be done with a coffee grinder. Grains can not be ground, it is optional.
3. Pour the powder into the teapot, pour boiling water. We close the lid, wrap it in a towel. Insist for 5-7 minutes. If the grains are not crushed, we put them in a saucepan, pour boiling water, send them to the fire. Cook for two to three minutes.
4. After the specified time, the drink is filtered. To do this, filter it through a sieve or through a piece of gauze folded in a couple of layers.
5. Add honey to the drink, mix. We cool the barley to room temperature, and then cool it in the refrigerator. If desired, it can be drunk warm or even hot.
