Perhaps the most important thing in the preparation of this cocktail is the obligatory cooling of the martini glass. It's not difficult to do this - just put the glass in the freezer for 6-8 hours. Of course, this must be done in advance and it is not always convenient and possible. Therefore, you can use the express method: fill a martini glass with crushed ice. Crushed ice is easy to get by simply wrapping ice cubes in a clean towel and tapping it with a kitchen jackhammer. We also pour water into a glass. Set aside and keep it like this for 5-10 minutes.

Now we prepare the lemon. It must necessarily have a good juicy peel of a beautiful yellow color. Carefully wash the lemon, as there may be wax or other preservative on the peel. They will be superfluous in the cocktail. After drying the lemon with a paper towel and using a special device for cleaning the fruit, remove the strip of peel. We do this not from top to bottom, but along to create a "twist", that is, so that the strip of peel twists.

Put ice cubes in a large mixing glass. It is desirable that they are large in size. Pour gin into a glass, add a martini. The proportions are classic for this cocktail variant, but, in general, the martini content can be increased if desired.

Close the glass with a lid and mix thoroughly, shaking the glass from top to bottom. Or from left to right. But only on such trajectories. Liquids mix well and, thanks to ice cubes, cool down.

We remove the martini glass from the freezer (when using the express method, we simply pour the contents into the sink). Filter the contents of the mixing glass into a chilled glass, decorate with a strip of lemon, which we hang on the edge of the glass.

We serve to the table with olives, which we put in a serving plate. If desired, olives (a couple of pieces) can be pricked on a skewer and put on top of a cocktail glass.

Enjoy the taste!
