Before even thinking about starting the preparation of this classic cocktail, it is necessary to cool the wine glass. To do this, we put it in the freezer. At least for two or three hours, but preferably longer. Moreover, the longer the better. You can even remove it in the morning if the cocktail is planned to be prepared in the evening.

And now we are actually preparing the famous drink. We take a lemon and wash it thoroughly, you can even use the hard side of a sponge for washing dishes. This is necessary to wash off the layer of preservative, which is usually applied in order to increase the shelf life of fruits during transportation and further sale.

Cut off a piece of lemon peel with a sharp knife or a special device for peeling vegetables and fruits. We try to remove the peel with a thin layer, practically without capturing the white inner layer, which will give the cocktail a bitter taste. We will need not the whole peel, but a small piece - a long strip about 1.5 cm wide and 5 cm long. Although lemon is not useful, it is still better to take a fresh and whole fruit for making a cocktail. Since the peel must necessarily only be cut.

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes - the larger the better. It is cubes, not crushed ice. Pour gin and martini into a glass filled with ice. Cover the glass with a lid and mix everything by shaking. If available, you can use a shaker, but not necessarily.

We remove a well-cooled wine glass from the freezer. Twist the lemon peel with your fingers around its axis so that it lets the juice. We send it to the wine glass - to the bottom.

We put a strainer on a glass with gin and martini and pour the liquid through it into a wine glass.

Everything is ready! You can enjoy it!
