Cooking method
1. Wash oranges thoroughly under running water. It is better to do this with a brush to wash off the harmful compounds that citrus fruits are usually treated with. Washed oranges are covered with boiling water for greater safety. Dry the fruit with paper towels.
2. Now you need to remove the zest. Peel should be removed very carefully so as not to touch the white film. Otherwise, the drink will be bitter. It is very convenient to remove the zest with a vegetable peeler, removing only a thin orange layer with strips.
3. We put the zest in a glass container (it can be an ordinary jar), pour vodka. We leave it for 5 days in a dark and cool place. It can be a cellar or a basement, a refrigerator is also perfect.
4. Oranges from which the peel was removed are put in a bag and sent to the refrigerator. In the future, they will be needed for this recipe.
5. After the specified time, filter the tincture through a sieve. The zest can be thrown away, it will no longer be needed. And squeeze the juice from the oranges. Juice should get half a liter. If it turns out less, you need to add water.
6. Pour the resulting orange juice into a saucepan, pour sugar, send it to the fire. You do not need to boil, just heat it up so that the sugar completely dissolves. Then filter the orange syrup through a sieve or through a gauze folded in a couple of layers.
7. Combine the syrup with the tincture, and then pour the drink into a glass bottle and send it to the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Traditionally, liqueur is served chilled in frozen glasses.
Have a nice tasting to you!
