Milk Soup with Rice
A great breakfast dish for kids and grown-ups. Milk soup with rice is a wonderful way to start the day for anyone. My husband often asks me to make him this soup — it reminds him of his childhood and his kindergarten years. The soup is quite filling and, most importantly, very good for you.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients to make milk soup with rice.
-
Step 2:
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. This keeps it from clumping together as it cooks.
-
Step 3:
Put the rinsed rice in a pot, cover it with water, add the salt, and set it on the heat. Cook the rice over medium heat until it boils, and once the water boils, reduce the heat.
-
Step 4:
Cook the rice until done. By then the water in the pot will have cooked off.
-
Step 5:
Add the butter, sugar, and milk to the rice. Once it comes to a boil, cook the rice for another 5 minutes and take the pot off the heat. Let the rice sit, covered, for 10 minutes.
-
Step 6:
The milk soup with rice is ready. Enjoy!
