Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to cook milk millet porridge in a slow cooker? Prepare the products. I use a special multi-cup from my multivarki as a measuring cup. But you can just use the proportion: for 1 measure of cereals, 6 measures of liquid. You can also replace some of the milk with water, then the porridge will be less fatty. I always cook with milk with a fat content of 2.5%. I do not advise taking more than 1.5 liters of milk, as it may start to boil out of the multivark valve.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pre-sort the millet, sifting out excess garbage and grains. Then rinse the millet thoroughly under running water. First make the water warm to wash off all the dirt. When the drained water becomes clear, rinse the millet several times under hot water. This will save the cereal from bitterness. You can also pour the millet with boiling water for a few minutes, but I usually have enough simple washing.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Fold the millet into the bowl of the slow cooker. Pour the milk. Add salt and sugar, mix.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put the slow cooker bowl back in place.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Close the lid, install the valve. Put a program for cooking porridge. On my slow cooker there is a special program "Milk porridge", the cooking time for this program is 1 hour. If you have a different model of multivarki, then use either the porridge program, or set the cooking time to 1 hour.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

When the program ends and the end signal sounds, open the lid of the slow cooker. Stir the porridge and close the lid again. Leave the slow cooker in the "Preheating" mode for another half hour. During this time, the cereal will boil even more and absorb more milk, the porridge will become thicker. If there is no such function on your slow cooker, then just leave it to stand, due to the heat, the porridge will still continue to languish.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

After half an hour, open the lid and put butter in the porridge. mix it up. Milk millet porridge is ready, you can put it on plates and serve it on the table. bon appetit!

I always cook milk porridge only according to this recipe. The porridge turns out to be quite liquid, but we love it that way. This porridge will especially appeal to children - it is not thick and not dry. If you like thicker porridges, then reduce the amount of milk to 5 glasses.
