Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to cook mulled wine with orange at home? Prepare the products. Take high-quality, natural wine, the quality of the finished drink will depend on its choice. It can be any wine: from dry to semi-sweet. I prefer dry wines, if you suddenly miss sweets, you can always add sugar. I also take whole spices: a stick of cinnamon and a star of star anise, but you can also take ground seasonings and spices.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the orange well and dry it. Cut half of the orange into circles, from the second half we will need only juice.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pour wine into a saucepan with a thick bottom, add star anise and cinnamon. At this stage, you can add your favorite spices and seasonings: ginger, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, mint, sliced apple and lemon.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put the sliced orange in the wine, squeeze the juice from the second half into a saucepan.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Heat the wine over low heat to 90 degrees, but do not bring it to a boil. Check for sugar: add it to the wine if necessary. Although mulled wine should not be too sweet. Be sure to strain the finished drink so that spices and fruits do not get into it and pour into glasses.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Serve mulled wine hot — that's the essence of this drink — warm it up! Enjoy your meal!

We have this popular winter drink called "Mulled wine", in Germany — "Gluvine", in the Czech Republic — "Brewed wine". But everywhere the recipe is approximately the same.
But when I was vacationing in Prague, I froze and ran into the nearest cafe to order a brewed wine, the seller just put a bag (such as our tea bags) with the necessary spices and additives in the hot wine, and after 5 minutes the drink was ready. Maybe this method will reach us soon.

Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acid, burning is individual for everyone, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste! If you put some of the seasonings for the first time, then keep in mind that there are spices that it is especially important not to shift (for example, chili pepper).
