Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
How to make a gooseberry tincture with vodka? Prepare the products: red gooseberry berries, sugar and vodka. Berries are suitable both unripe and ripe. The color of the gooseberry naturally depends on the color of the resulting drink. I always prefer red varieties — they are more fragrant and more beautiful. Choose vodka of good quality, it has a softer taste.
Step 2:
Rinse the gooseberry berries well under running water and put them in a colander so that the water runs well. And it is not necessary to cut off the tails and stems of the berries. If the berries were too polluted, then they can be soaked in water for several hours to remove the dirt. Then rinse again under running water.
Step 3:
Put the berries in a glass container, pour vodka, cover with a lid. I use a glass jar of the right size. Leave it in a dark place for two months.
Step 4:
After a while, strain the tincture through a strainer or gauze. Throw out the berries. Prepare a sweet syrup. How to make syrup? In a suitable bowl, pour sugar, pour water, put on fire. Bring to a boil, stirring the mixture until the sugar dissolves. Cool the syrup and pour it into a container with tincture, shake and leave for another week. The tincture is ready.
Step 5:
Pour it into bottles. You can store the tincture in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place.
It is known that gooseberries are rich in vitamins, micro- and macroelements, and these substances are preserved in alcoholic tinctures. Therefore, some people take gooseberry tincture as a medicine to strengthen the immune system, to improve digestion, as a tonic during overwork, fatigue, during physical exertion, etc. But, of course, in minimal doses and in the absence of contraindications to taking this tincture.

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.
