"French Mistress" Salad
An unexpected combination of everyday ingredients that surprises and delights! This salad is a treasure trove of vitamins (especially if you swap the mayonnaise for sour cream or plain yogurt), easy to put together, and takes little time or effort. Fragrant, juicy, refined, and delicious. Its original sweet-and-sour flavor is hard to forget — once you've tried it, you'll keep coming back for more (which is probably where the name comes from). It's great for anyone watching their figure, and perfect for a girls' night in.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
The ingredients for the salad. The chicken breast is already boiled and cooled. The nuts are toasted in a dry skillet until golden. The raisins are rinsed well, covered with boiling water for 20 minutes, and cooled. The carrots and onion are peeled and washed.
-
Step 2:
Cut the onion into half-moons and rub them between your fingers to separate.
-
Step 3:
Add a little salt and a sprinkle of sugar, a drop of vinegar, and pour boiling water over the onion. Then cool it and squeeze it out.
-
Step 4:
Finely chop the chicken breast.
-
Step 5:
Grate the raw carrots and the cheese (preferably on the fine side).
-
Step 6:
Chop the walnuts.
-
Step 7:
Peel the orange and cut the flesh into cubes.
-
Step 8:
Assemble the salad, layering the prepared ingredients and spreading mayonnaise over each layer. The first layer is chicken + mayonnaise, then onion + mayonnaise.
-
Step 9:
Then raisins + mayonnaise, carrots + mayonnaise.
-
Step 10:
The next layer is cheese + mayonnaise.
-
Step 11:
Then the nuts, and on top, the orange and a few raisins. And there's our "French Mistress" salad! Refrigerate it until serving. Treat yourself and your sweetheart, or invite the girls over for a night in. Enjoy!
