Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a salad cocktail with chicken and cucumber? Easy as pie! First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. The amount of any ingredients can be increased or decreased to your liking.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Boil chicken fillet in boiling salted water until tender for about 25 minutes. The exact cooking time depends on the size of the fillet. But keep in mind that long cooking makes the meat rubbery and less juicy. Cool the fillets and cut into small cubes.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Hard-boil eggs, cool and peel. Separate the whites from the yolks. Cut the proteins into small cubes. Set the yolks aside.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Wash the cucumber and cut into small cubes. The skin, if it is not rough, not damaged and not bitter, is not necessary to cut off.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Wash the prunes, dry them and cut them into pieces. If the prunes are too hard and over-dried, you can pour boiling water over them and leave for 10 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Chop walnuts with a knife or crush with a rolling pin

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

I have previously transferred the mayonnaise into a cooking bag so that it is more convenient to apply it to the ingredients.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Cocktail salad is usually served in serving glasses or cream bowls so that all layers are visible. Put chicken, prunes, cucumber, egg white, walnuts in layers in the selected serving dish, smearing each with mayonnaise. If desired, you can salt and pepper the layers, but I do not add spices to salads with mayonnaise. Sprinkle the salad with finely grated egg yolks on top. It is better to rub the yolks directly on the salad so that they do not crumple.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Put the glasses with salad in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, tightening with cling film so that the yolks do not curl. Before serving, decorate the salad to your liking. Enjoy your meal!

The salad will look nice and neat if you cut all the ingredients into pieces of the same size and shape (for example, cubes).

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
