Sea Buckthorn Tea with Spices and Chili
Health, goodness, flavor, and a little captured sunshine—it's all in this hot drink! In season, sea buckthorn tea doesn't cost much, and it's downright thrifty if you have a sea buckthorn bush growing in your own backyard. This tea is as good for you as it is delicious!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather your ingredients. Put the kettle on.
-
Step 2:
If you have a French press, add everything to it except the sea buckthorn. If not, put the ingredients in a saucepan or a large mug.
-
Step 3:
Add the sea buckthorn to the press as well. If you don't have one, put the berries in a small bowl and crush them with a spoon or fork (or a potato masher or blender), then add them to the rest of the ingredients.
-
Step 4:
Pour in the boiling water.
-
Step 5:
If you're using a press, crush the berries; if you're using a saucepan, just give it a stir. Cover and let steep for 5-7 minutes.
-
Step 6:
Pour into cups.
-
Step 7:
And there you have it.
-
Step 8:
Sweeten to taste with the syrup and sugar (or just one of them)—honey or white sugar work too, whatever you like best.
- Enjoy your tea!
