Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Gather all the ingredients. You can use any fat content of sour cream, but the lower the fat, the airier the dessert. Use whatever chocolate you like—I prefer dark in this dessert, but if you have a sweet tooth, go for semisweet or milk. You can use agar-agar in place of gelatin; if you do, it's best to boil the milk for a few minutes.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Dissolve the gelatin in the milk and let it bloom for 10 minutes. Beat the sour cream with the sugar at medium speed for 5–7 minutes, until bubbles form.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Add the cocoa and beat well again. Set the bloomed gelatin over very low heat and warm it, stirring constantly, until the granules dissolve. Pour the dissolved gelatin into the sour cream mixture and mix well again.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Chop the chocolate into small pieces, stir them into the sour cream with a spoon. Line a mold with plastic wrap and pour in the mixture. Refrigerate for 5 hours, preferably overnight.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

Once set, turn the dessert out onto a plate, remove the mold and plastic wrap, and garnish as you like.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Your chocolate sour cream dessert is ready. Enjoy!

  • A lot of people assume sweet desserts are not just pointless but even a little bad for you—yet research has shown that desserts and baked goods made the right way can actually do the body good. For one, chocolate, dried fruit, honey, and brown sugar are a genuine energy source for anyone leading an active life. On top of that, honey, prunes, raisins, and chocolate help slow aging, since people who regularly eat these foods keep their antioxidant stores topped up.
