Cherry jam for winter

Prepare summer berries. Enjoy their taste and aroma in the cold winter! I love cherries and jam from it and every year I try to close at least a few jars of this delicacy. Guests are always delighted, and with our relatives we open this jam on especially gloomy and cold days to give ourselves a little summer sunny mood!

Cooking method

Cooking time: 2 h 25 min

1. Sort the berries, remove the tails, wash and put on a towel to dry.
2. Pierce each berry with a toothpick, which will keep them whole and beautiful during heat treatment.
3. Prepare the syrup: pour water into a saucepan, put sugar and bring to a boil with constant stirring. It is necessary that all the sugar crystals dissolve.
4. Put the prepared berries in the boiling syrup, wait for the future jam to boil again.
5. Add cinnamon (or vanilla) if desired.
6. Simmer the jam for 1-1.5 hours. The longer you cook, the thicker the jam will turn out in the end - it will be thick, caramel.
7. Arrange the finished jam in sterile jars, roll up the lids, cool in the heat, then store in a cool place.
