Cooking method

First of all, we will prepare all the products necessary to cook and roll up plum apple jam. Since fruits are the main ingredient here, then their choice should be taken with special attention. They should be ripe, without damaged areas of rot or any flaws. Only in this case you will get a really delicious, thick jam of the desired consistency.

Since apples usually take a little longer to cook, first you need to do them. Rinse them thoroughly with water, dry them. Cut the apples in half and take out the inner seeds. Cut the pulp of apples into small cubes. We put the cubes of apples in a large saucepan and add a little clean water. Put the pan on the stove and simmer the apple slices until soft for about 10-15 minutes (depends on the variety of apples).

While the apples are on the stove, let's do the plums. They must be thoroughly rinsed under running water, dried and cut in half. Then remove the seeds from the plums and finely chop. Pour the sliced plums into a saucepan to the apples and continue to cook everything together for another 10-15 minutes on low heat until the plums let the juice and boil to a puree state.

Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the fruit mixture with a large spoon into a sieve with large holes. We grind the fruit mass through a sieve and bring it to a homogeneous consistency.

Then we put the fruit mass back into the pan, put it on medium heat and bring it to a boil. Cook the chopped fruit for 5 minutes and add granulated sugar. Reduce the heat to a minimum and cook the jam for another 10-15 minutes, stirring all the time with a spoon or a wooden spatula so that the sugar does not burn to the bottom of the pan.

Carefully wash the jars and lids, sterilize them in any convenient way. Remove the pan from the heat and immediately pour the hot jam into clean jars, roll up the lids. We put the rolled-up cans upside down on the table and cover them with something warm. In this state, we leave them until they cool down completely, after which they can be removed to the cellar or storage room for storage.

Plum apple jam is ready! Bon appetit!
