Italian Lasagna with Ready-Made Sheets

Make an Italian dish for dinner and wow the whole family! Classic lasagna makes a wonderful meal for a houseful of family and the people you love. It's not exactly an everyday dish, since it takes more than 20 minutes to put together. I make it on weekends or for a special occasion, since I'm at work late during the week. Here's my recipe—give it a try!

  • Put the ground meat in a hot skillet, add the olive oil, break the meat up with a fork, and fry for 5 minutes. Peel the onion and garlic, chop them with a knife, add them to the meat, and cook until the onion turns translucent. Then add the tomatoes in their juice, salt, and the Italian herb blend. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes.
  • Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan, then whisk in the flour and pour in the warm milk (add it a little at a time, whisking well after each addition so no lumps form). Cook until thickened. Season the béchamel with salt and nutmeg, stir, and take it off the heat.
  • Assembling the lasagna is easy: spread a little béchamel in the dish in an even layer. Lay down lasagna sheets, cover with the fragrant Bolognese, spoon over white sauce, and add another layer of sheets. Once the lasagna is assembled, sprinkle the top with grated cheese and bake in an oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) for 30 minutes, until golden brown.
  • It came out so appetizing!
  • Enjoy!
