Chokeberry Jam with Orange

An unusual treat for teatime — you've got to make it! Here's a recipe for a really tasty chokeberry jam with a touch of citrus. It's a lovely companion to a cup of tea and adds a little zing to homemade pies. Give it a try!

    1. Pick over the chokeberries, removing any twigs that got mixed in during picking.
    1. Scrub the oranges and lemon in hot water with a brush.
    1. Cut off the stem ends of the citrus, chop the fruit into pieces, and remove the seeds.
    1. Purée the prepped orange and lemon pieces in a blender.
    1. Put the citrus purée and the chokeberries in a roomy enamel pot, cover with the sugar, and set over the heat.
    1. Bring the berry-citrus mixture to a boil, then cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
    1. Spoon the jam into clean, dry jars and wait until it cools before putting on the lids (don't seal it hot, or condensation will form on the lid).
