Chokeberry Jam with Orange
An unusual treat for teatime — you've got to make it! Here's a recipe for a really tasty chokeberry jam with a touch of citrus. It's a lovely companion to a cup of tea and adds a little zing to homemade pies. Give it a try!

- Pick over the chokeberries, removing any twigs that got mixed in during picking.
- Scrub the oranges and lemon in hot water with a brush.
- Cut off the stem ends of the citrus, chop the fruit into pieces, and remove the seeds.
- Purée the prepped orange and lemon pieces in a blender.
- Put the citrus purée and the chokeberries in a roomy enamel pot, cover with the sugar, and set over the heat.
- Bring the berry-citrus mixture to a boil, then cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
- Spoon the jam into clean, dry jars and wait until it cools before putting on the lids (don't seal it hot, or condensation will form on the lid).
- And there you go! This pretty, fragrant jam will brighten your table all through the winter chill!
