Homemade Apple Fruit Jellies (Marmalade)
A homemade treat with no nasty additives, for kids and grown-ups alike! If you're wary of store-bought gummies and candies, read on: make these and you'll completely change your mind, I promise! Here's how I make apple fruit jellies with gelatin. Not only do the kids adore them, so does my husband — and as for me, let's just say I'm first in line for a taste!

- Put the gelatin in a small bowl and cover with cold water. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes to bloom.
- Wash the apples, peel them, cut them into thin slices, and remove the cores and seeds.
- Put the apple slices in a saucepan, add the sugar, and cook over medium heat for about half an hour.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in the water, stir well, and pour it into the apple mixture in a thin stream, stirring constantly.
- Then blend the fruit mixture until you have an almost perfectly smooth applesauce.
- Warm the bloomed gelatin in the microwave for 15–20 seconds, then stir it into the applesauce until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a mold and leave it to set completely (about an hour and a half).
- Turn the set jellies out of the mold and cut into cubes (for kids, I use cookie cutters — it looks fun and tempting), then roll in sugar.
