Pasta with Frankfurters

Try one of our favorite ways to serve pasta! My kids gobble this up. There are countless ways to cook and serve pasta, but this is the one that stuck in our family — the ingredients are easy to find and the flavors come together beautifully.

  • Pour water into a pot, bring it to a boil, add a little salt, and add the pasta. Cook until done, following the package directions.
  • Peel the onion, cut it into half-rings, and sauté it in the butter for 2 minutes.
  • Slice the frankfurters into rounds, add them to the onion, and cook everything together for another 2 minutes.
  • Rinse the green onion under running water, pat it dry with a paper towel, chop it finely, and add it to the skillet for a minute.
  • Drain the cooked pasta in a colander, then add it to the skillet with everything else. Season with salt and pepper, toss to combine, then divide among plates and serve.
