Chocolate Fondant (Marshmallow Mastic) for Decorating Cakes

Step 1:
Gather the ingredients. Sift the powdered sugar through a fine sieve. Break the chocolate into pieces.

Put the cream, butter, marshmallows, and chocolate in a bowl and set it over a water bath (double boiler). Stir.

Let everything melt completely. Don't let it come to a boil!

Let the mixture cool a bit, then stir in the sifted powdered sugar with a spoon.

The fondant will be a little sticky.

Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for several hours — ideally overnight.

This fondant is great for modeling flowers and figurines and for covering cakes. This cake is decorated entirely with chocolate fondant (apart from the beads and lace).
