Pasta with Green Beans and Tomatoes
Mood-boosting pasta — a delicious way to chase the happy hormones! Did you know that green beans and pasta trigger the production of serotonin, the hormone behind our good mood, which we especially need in the late-winter and early-spring months? It's true — a scientifically proven fact! This dish takes hardly any time, and you'll end up with a fragrant, tasty, and undeniably wholesome plate of pasta. Eat up and be happy!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Drop the frozen green beans into boiling salted water and cook for 5 minutes, then drain in a colander. Next, cook the pasta — you'll need about 3.5 liters (a little under 1 gallon) of water for 350 g of pasta. Once the water boils, add salt, then the pasta, and cook until done (check the package for timing). Drain it; there's no need to rinse, since durum wheat pasta won't stick together!
-
Step 2:
Peel the tomatoes (dunk them in boiling water for a few seconds to make this easy). Sauté the finely chopped garlic and the tomatoes in oil until the tomato juices start to bubble. Add the green beans to the sauce, lower the heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Toss the pasta with the sauce and serve. Enjoy!
