Homemade Condensed Milk in 15 Minutes
This incredibly tasty homemade condensed milk comes together in just 15 minutes! My family loves condensed milk, so I decided to make it at home myself. After tasting the homemade batch, we agreed — we'll never buy the store kind again, only make it ourselves! It's quick — just 15 minutes — and you always know exactly what's in your kids' favorite treat.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Get the ingredients ready — just three simple things: milk, sugar, and powdered milk.
-
Step 2:
Put the sugar and powdered milk into the saucepan you'll cook in and mix well.
-
Step 3:
Then pour in the milk in a thin stream, stirring well so there are no lumps.
-
Step 4:
Set the saucepan on the stove. STIR CONSTANTLY, THE WHOLE TIME! Let the mixture come to a boil, then turn the heat way down and cook for 10 minutes — again, stirring nonstop. I got distracted for a second and it scorched a little on the bottom; I stirred it right in, but a few caramel-colored flecks appeared. It didn't affect the taste, but still...
-
Step 5:
If the condensed milk looks runny, don't worry. It thickens just 2–3 minutes after you take it off the heat, so don't overcook it.
-
Step 6:
Let it cool in the saucepan, then pour it into a glass jar and store it in the refrigerator.
-
Step 7:
This batch made about 400 grams of condensed milk. Trust me, you won't want the store-bought kind anymore — only homemade! It's fast and easy to make. Enjoy it with cookies, on its own, or stirred into frostings. Enjoy!
