Cooking method
A wonderful dish of Belarusian cuisine is a culinary recipe for sour–milk refrigerator with smoked meats. Something vaguely resembles our hodgepodge. The main difference from the latter is that kholodnik is an exceptionally cold dish (that's why it's called that). They can decorate any summer table, and in the country after a river or lake, this is an excellent food for a starved body (especially for men and children). I will clarify right away that by "smoked sausage products" we mean any sausage or ham, and boiled meat can be safely replaced with ham. The dish does not require cooking, so literally tens of minutes are spent on its preparation (especially if we already have the meat ready).
To begin with, boil water in a kettle, cool it and then mix it with sour milk from the refrigerator. Here we also add chopped dill greens, the right amount of salt and ground pepper, a little lemon juice and a little sugar. Cucumbers are peeled and cut into small cubes together with boiled eggs, boiled meat and smoked meats. We send all this stuff to our saucepan with milk, water and herbs. In Belarus, such a refrigerator is usually served with boiled potatoes.
