Homemade Molded Chocolate from Cocoa Powder and Butter
Make delicious milk chocolate at home! If you like, stir in some chopped nuts — it's really tasty!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Prepare the ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Mix the sugar with the cocoa powder.
-
Step 3:
Add a spoonful of milk and stir.
-
Step 4:
Then pour in the rest of the milk and mix.
-
Step 5:
Set the saucepan over a double boiler and stir until everything comes together.
-
Step 6:
Here's the smooth mixture you should get.
-
Step 7:
Lower the heat to its minimum, add the butter, and stir until all the ingredients are fully combined.
-
Step 8:
Then add the flour…
-
Step 9:
…and stir well again.
-
Step 10:
Take it off the double boiler, add the vanilla sugar if you like, and stir. You can also mix in chopped nuts.
-
Step 11:
Now pour the chocolate into molds. Use one big mold and you'll have a chocolate bar. I made "chocolate kitties"! Lightly grease the inside of the mold with butter and pour in the chocolate.
-
Step 12:
Now chill the molds in the fridge or freezer — I prefer the freezer. Leave them until fully set.
-
Step 13:
Once well chilled, the candies pop right out of the molds!
-
Step 14:
Treat your kids and yourself to homemade milk chocolate! Enjoy!
- Note: since ingredient quality varies, be ready to add more dry ingredients and/or less liquid to get the right thickness. I didn't need to — I used exactly the amounts in the list. Judge the consistency of the chocolate mixture BEFORE freezing.
