Fried Oyster Mushrooms with Garlic and Herbs

Zesty and a little spicy — it whets the appetite. Serve it alongside just about any dish or drink.

  1. Step 1:

    Gather all the ingredients you'll need. Any mushrooms will work; I'm using oyster mushrooms.

    Clean and rinse the mushrooms, then cut them into smaller pieces.

    Mince the garlic very finely with a knife.

    Finely chop the fresh cilantro.

    In a skillet with just a little vegetable oil, fry the mushrooms on both sides until golden.

    Spread the fried mushrooms on a flat plate and season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Sprinkle the mushrooms with the chopped cilantro and minced garlic, and lightly drizzle with the 5% white vinegar.

    This zesty little appetizer is right at home on any party table.

  • You can use lemon juice in place of the vinegar.
