Beer-Braised Pork in the Oven

Tender, juicy meat with a wonderful, one-of-a-kind aroma. I once made pork knuckle braised in beer and loved it so much that I went hunting for more beer-cooked meat recipes. Out of the many I found, I picked the simplest — no long marinating required, but every bit as delicious! Give it a try!

Slice the onion into thin half-moons and spread it over the bottom of a baking dish.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Rinse the pork, pat it thoroughly dry with paper towels, and cut deep slits about 3/4 inch (1.5–2 cm) apart.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

    Salt it.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

    Pepper it.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Add spices to taste — today I chose dried rosemary.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Press the garlic or grate it on a fine grater.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

Rub the meat well on all sides with the salt, pepper, and spices, then set it on top of the onion.

    Step 9

Pour the beer over everything — I used about 250 ml (1 cup).

  10. Step 10:

Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (180°C) for 1.5 hours.

  11. Step 11:

When the time's up, take the meat out, remove the foil, and return it to the oven for another 15 minutes to brown.

  12. Step 12:

And there you have it — our beer-braised pork is ready.

  13. Step 13:

    Enjoy!
