Cooking method
- This mayonnaise and sour cream sauce can be made with ordinary fresh sour cream and any store-bought mayonnaise — it could be Provençal mayonnaise or olive-oil mayonnaise. Mix 250 grams of mayonnaise with 250 grams of sour cream. If you want a spicier sauce, add a washed chili pepper, halved, to the mixture for a few minutes, then remove it before serving. This sauce can be served with foods like pelmeni, manti, vareniki, meat patties, or Cairo-style braised meat. You can also use it to dress various vegetable salads. By adding different spices, you can shift the flavor of the sauce anywhere from very hot — with ground chili or "lady's tongue" hot pepper — to sweet, using sugar or powdered milk. By the way, you can also stir chopped herbs, dill, or parsley into the sauce.
