Stuffed Meat Flatbreads in a Skillet
Juicy, flaky, filling, and downright delicious — you're going to love these flatbreads! The first time I made them, I thought, "How did I ever get by without this recipe?" It really is simple and affordable, a little out of the ordinary, but oh so good. Your family will be amazed that you made something this tasty yourself!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Gather all your ingredients.
-
Step 2:
Combine the flour with the water. Bring it together with a spoon, then knead briefly by hand.
-
Step 3:
You'll end up with a fairly stiff dough.
-
Step 4:
Cover it with a towel and move on to the filling.
-
Step 5:
Finely chop the onion.
-
Step 6:
Add the chopped onion to the ground meat, season with a little salt (go easy, since we'll be adding soy sauce too), and pour in 1 tablespoon of vodka.
-
Step 7:
Add the soy sauce.
-
Step 8:
Now the sesame oil. If you don't have any, no worries — just swap in any other vegetable oil.
-
Step 9:
Mix well — and the filling is ready!
-
Step 10:
Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces.
-
Step 11:
Roll one piece out thin — but not so thin that it's see-through — about the thickness of a thin flatbread.
-
Step 12:
Spread half of the meat filling over the round, covering about three-quarters of it.
-
Step 13:
Make a single cut in the empty section on one side, then fold and pinch the edges to seal.
-
Step 14:
Fold again and pinch the edges well once more.
-
Step 15:
Fold one last time and pinch the edges closed all the way around.
-
Step 16:
Now, gently — with a rolling pin or just your hands — roll and stretch the dough into a rough circle.
-
Step 17:
Set it in a buttered skillet, turn the heat to high, and wait 20 seconds.
-
Step 18:
Lower the heat to medium, cover with a lid, and cook for 5–7 minutes.
-
Step 19:
Flip it over and finish cooking the other side, covered. Repeat the whole process with the second flatbread.
-
Step 20:
Our flatbreads are ready!
-
Step 21:
Just look how mouthwatering they are! I don't know about you, but my mouth is already watering.
-
Step 22:
Enjoy!
