Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
Prepare the products that you will need to make sandwiches with potatoes in a frying pan: several slices of loaf (you can take a denser one, yesterday's one), potatoes, vegetable oil for frying salt and fresh tomato for serving.
Step 2:
Potato tubers must be thoroughly washed, cleaned and grated. I grate on a fine grater. Add salt to taste. If there is too much potato juice, then squeeze out the excess. At this stage, a variety of fillers can be added to the potato filling: spices to taste, grated cheese, chopped clean greens, finely chopped mushrooms.
Step 3:
Apply the chopped potatoes to the slices of the loaf in a uniform neat layer and lightly press down with a fork or hands.
Step 4:
Place the prepared sandwiches very carefully and carefully on a well-heated frying pan with vegetable oil. An important point: it is necessary to put the sandwiches with potato stuffing down!!! Fry the sandwiches on one side over a little more than medium heat to the degree of browning that you need.
Step 5:
Flip the potato sandwiches to the other side and fry for another minute to brown the loaf a little. Remove the finished sandwiches from the pan and serve immediately. Wash the tomato, dry it with a towel and cut it into circles or semicircles, put it on sandwiches. Also, sprigs of fresh dill will not be an unnecessary decoration of such a dish.
You can supplement the potato filling with spices such as ground black pepper, asafoetida, paprika (regular or smoked), turmeric. Svan salt or hops-suneli is also well suited.
Instead of the usual salt, try using black Indian salt. This salt will give the dish a slight taste of egg yolk. It will turn out much tastier and more interesting!
