In order to make an omelet from chickpea flour, first of all it is necessary to prepare the dough. Since there are no eggs in the omelet, chickpeas are used instead, or rather flour from it. Chickpeas are an extremely useful product, it contains folic acid, iron, magnesium and potassium. And the protein content in chickpea flour is more than 6 times higher than their content in white wheat. In addition, this dish is a great alternative for vegetarians and people who observe fasting.
So, to prepare such an unusual and very healthy breakfast as an omelet made of chickpea flour, first of all you should mix all the necessary ingredients together. To do this, mix the right amount of chickpea flour and water in the bowl of a blender or food processor. Then add tofu. You can, of course, do without it. But it is tofu that gives the omelet density and such an attractive structure. For a more lush result, it is also good to add baking powder (you can replace it with baking soda). Then grind and beat all this mass into a liquid and viscous dough with a homogeneous structure.
In order to give the omelet a piquant taste and spicy aroma, it is necessary to add seasonings. Add salt and add dry spices, depending on individual preferences. For example, turmeric will give the finished dish a bright orange hue and cheer up. Chili powder will add a sharp note. And curry will add an oriental flavor to the chickpea omelet.
After the dough is kneaded, prepare a frying pan and pour a little vegetable oil into it. Put the pan on the fire and pour out the batter for the omelet. Fry the omelet on one side over medium heat. As soon as bubbles form on the surface, flip the omelet to the other side, pushing it with a spatula. Reduce the heat, cover with a lid and fry the omelet until fully cooked.
Chickpea flour omelet is served together with various herbs.
Bon appetit and good health!
