Banana Cake with Chocolate, Nuts, and Apple

Banana and dark chocolate—so tempting! I recently tried a cake like this at a friend's place and loved it, so I made it at home right away to share with you. The banana is what really makes the flavor, and the aroma fills the whole kitchen. Give it a try. The original recipe called for 200 g of flour, but I was in a hurry and added 300 g—and honestly, I think 300 is better. If you want a really moist cake, use less flour. Serve it with coffee or tea.

Cooking method

  1. Step 1:

    Step 1

Here are the ingredients we'll use. Note that the apple and carrot are small, and so is the banana.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2

Beat the eggs with the sugar, then add the oil.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3

Now we need to grind everything up. I used pre-ground nuts—I had hazelnuts, but walnuts work too.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4

Peel the carrot and the apple. I blitzed them together with the banana in a blender, but you can also grate them on a fine grater.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5

I chopped the chocolate with a knife.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6

Now mix everything together, then add the flour and baking powder.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7

Pour everything into a parchment-lined pan and bake in a preheated 350°F (180°C) oven for 1 hour.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8

And here it is—our cake is ready!
