An original, tasty appetizer for a party spread! Not long ago I made battered crab sticks for a get-together—everyone loved them and asked for the recipe. I'm sure you'll be curious too. Give it a try; it takes half an hour at most. A great dish for hanging out with friends ;)

- Make the batter:
- crack the egg into a bowl, pour in the milk, and add salt, baking soda, and pepper;
- add the flour a bit at a time, whisking after each addition so there are no lumps;
- The batter should be thick, so if you used a large egg it may come out runny. In that case, add more flour.
- Make the filling:
- grate the cheese into a separate bowl;
- rinse the dill and chop it;
- mix the dill and cheese and stir in the mayonnaise;
- peel the garlic, press it in, and add it to the cheese mixture;
- season with salt and pepper and mix well.
- Unroll the crab sticks (they should be chilled, not frozen), sprinkle the inner surface with lemon juice, spread a thin layer of filling, and roll them back up. Do this with all the crab sticks, then cut each one crosswise into 2 pieces.
- Dip each piece in the batter and fry in vegetable oil on both sides until golden. Then set them on a paper-towel-lined plate to blot the excess oil.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
- Help yourself and enjoy!
