Oven-Baked Pork and Potatoes in a Roasting Bag
This simple dish is sure to earn a spot on your table! It couldn't be easier — just marinate the meat in the morning, then in the evening tuck it into a roasting bag with the potatoes, and dinner is ready in an hour! It's from my favorite category — "fast, simple, delicious" — and filling to boot!
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
For this recipe, it's best to marinate the meat ahead of time so it turns out more tender. Here are the ingredients you'll need for the marinade.
-
Step 2:
Cut the meat into bite-size pieces.
-
Step 3:
Add the soy sauce and mayonnaise (or yogurt or vegetable oil — your choice); this helps tenderize the meat.
-
Step 4:
Add ground black pepper, or your favorite spices.
-
Step 5:
Add the adjika (a spicy tomato-pepper relish).
-
Step 6:
A little vinegar.
-
Step 7:
Slice the onion into half-rings.
-
Step 8:
Add a little salt to draw out the onion's juices. We won't add any more salt to the marinade, since the soy sauce and mayonnaise are already salty.
-
Step 9:
Mix well and let it marinate for a few hours, or preferably overnight. A quick tip: if you need the meat to marinate faster, leave it at room temperature; if you're marinating it the night before, keep it in the fridge. Beef is best left for a full day, while chicken can go straight into the oven.
-
Step 10:
For the next step, you'll need your marinated meat, the potatoes, and a roasting bag.
-
Step 11:
From here it's easy again — measure out the length of bag you need and tie off one end.
-
Step 12:
Cut the potatoes however you like — I prefer large pieces.
-
Step 13:
Put them into the bag.
-
Step 14:
Add the marinated pork.
-
Step 15:
Add salt.
-
Step 16:
Mix the contents well — it's very easy to do this right in the bag.
-
Step 17:
Pierce the bag in a few spots with a needle so steam can escape and it doesn't burst. Put it in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for 1 hour.
-
Step 18:
After 30 minutes, take it out of the oven and flip the bag over.
-
Step 19:
Finely chop the fresh herbs.
-
Step 20:
Another 30 minutes and dinner is ready!
-
Step 21:
Carefully cut open the bag, taking care not to get burned by the steam.
-
Step 22:
Sprinkle with fresh herbs.
-
Step 23:
Call your family to the table!
-
Step 24:
Enjoy!
- Make this dish and your family will love it — it's so simple and delicious! And as a bonus, you'll have hardly any dirty dishes and a clean oven. Give it a try!
