No-Bake Crêpe Cake with Condensed Milk
An original crêpe cake with condensed milk — pure imagination and flavor! Assembly time: just 15 minutes. Did you know you can turn crêpes into something really special, like a crêpe cake? Trust me, once you try this recipe you'll be delighted with how it comes out. We're talking about something as everyday as crêpes — they're already great on their own, so why make anything more of them? One reason: just try it once, and you'll want to make it again and again. Its charm lies not so much in how easy it is as in the sheer range of fillings you can use. Swap the filling and you've got an entirely different dessert. In this recipe, for instance, you can replace the condensed milk with dulce de leche (boiled condensed milk) for a whole new flavor. In short, experiment away.
Cooking method
- The main thing, of course, is to make the crêpes. It's handy to do this ahead of time, since cooking them takes a while — better yet, make just the number you need for the cake. Shell the walnuts well and chop them very finely. Toasting them in a dry skillet until their aroma fills the kitchen makes the cake taste even better. Spread each crêpe with condensed milk and sprinkle it with nuts. Decorate the top crêpe however you like — a dusting of powdered sugar over the nuts, or a swirl of whipped cream, both work beautifully.
