Step-by-step cooking
Step 1:
To prepare the Classic Hungarian goulash, cut the beef into cubes or slices. The sizes for this culinary recipe can be different from very small to quite large pieces. The only thing depends on the size of the meat and the cooking time of this dish. Chop the onion very finely.
Step 2:
In a deep frying pan (or in a saucepan), heat the vegetable oil, add the onion and simmer over medium heat until the onion is soft and transparent. If desired, carrots cut into strips or cubes can be put out together with onions. In order for the gravy to get thicker, before adding meat, you need to put flour in the fried onion. Red bell pepper is also added to the roast - unfortunately, I did not have it, so there is no photo (
Step 3:
We set the fire to the maximum and pour in the chopped meat. Fry with continuous stirring for one or two minutes. Reduce the fire to a minimum. Pour a glass of boiling water. Simmer under the lid for about 30-40 minutes.
Step 4:
If you cut the beef into large pieces, the cooking time lasts up to 1 hour. If the water from the goulash evaporates quickly, add a little water. Served hot with bread.
Step 5:
Bon appetit!
