Slow-Cooker Stewed Cabbage with Green Peas
This dish is perfect for dinner — it's very low in calories.
Cooking method
-
Step 1:
Turn on the slow cooker, select the "Sauté" program, and pour a little oil into the bowl. Cut the onion into cubes and the carrot into strips. Add the vegetables to the bowl and lightly sauté, stirring.
-
Step 2:
Finely shred the cabbage (a vegetable shredder works best — it makes the dish more tender) and add it to the bowl.
-
Step 3:
Add salt, ground pepper, your favorite seasonings, the green peas (no need to thaw them), and the tomato paste, then pour in a little warm boiled water. Stir all the ingredients together in the bowl. Select the "Stew" or "Bake" program; cooking time is about 30 minutes (depending on your slow cooker's power and how much food you have). After that, taste the dish and, if needed, cook another 10 minutes. Serve onto plates. Enjoy!
