- If your pollock is fresh and uncleaned, take care of cleaning and cutting the fish at the very start. After that, you can move straight to cooking: 1. Peel the onion and carrots. 2. Pour the vegetable oil into the slow-cooker bowl and turn it on to heat the oil in Sauté mode. 3. Cut the onion into quarter-rings, add it to the hot oil, and stir. 4. While the onion cooks, dice the carrots and add them to the onion. 5. Cover the slow cooker and let the vegetables braise in the oil for up to 15 minutes on medium Sauté power. 6. Meanwhile, cut the pollock into serving pieces. 7. Once the vegetables are done, lay the fish on top of them in the slow cooker. 8. Sprinkle with the spice blend and salt, and add the sour cream. Stir. 9. Stew the fish, covered tightly, for 40 minutes on the "Stew" setting. 10. About ten minutes before the end, sprinkle the pollock and vegetables with grated cheese. When the program beeps, the dish is ready — plate it and serve hot. Enjoy!
